Our biggest highlights include Good Housekeeping awards, fun videos on IG reels, a standalone TV segment on the biggest news market in the country, and some big announcements from our clients! FlyWithWine on Condé Nast Traveler & Travel + Leisure
Condé Nast and Travel + Leisure are two of the most popular and well-respected names in travel media. Imagine our excitement to see Orca Communications client FlyWithWine covered in both! Condé Nast mentioned the company’s innovative suitcase in an article about how to properly pack wine in a suitcase. The article reads, “One of my favorite ways to travel with wine or to pack wine on the way home from a trip is to use FlyWithWine’s VinGardeValise suitcases.” The quote from an LA-based sommelier goes on to describe how she uses the suitcases.
Travel + Leisure included FlyWithWine in a roundup of products called “5 Must-Haves for Your Next Trip to Wine Country.” The prestigious travel publication calls the product “impeccably designed.”
Cove Home Wins Good Housekeeping Award & House Beautiful Award
When you have an innovative product design that has the power to transform closets, you want respect from the biggest home lifestyle press outlets. That’s exactly what Cove Home received this month. Their patented clothes hanger, designed specifically for long garments, won an award for “Best Products for Cleaning and Organizing 2022!” in Good Housekeeping and received a 2022 Live Better Award from House Beautiful. Orca publicist, Bridget Argana says, “The best feeling for a publicist is to have that perfect storm – when you send out your pitch or a press release and it reaches the editor who loves the product and submits it into their award category and it wins! This is why perseverance, creativity, and timing are everything when pitching.”
Good Housekeeping gets more than 10 million unique views monthly on its website. The print version has more than 17.5-million copies in circulation. It is one of the 10 most widely magazines in the United States. House Beautiful has more than 800 thousand unique views monthly. These are both huge wins for the Cove Hanger.
Angela’s Bakery gets a standalone segment in the biggest TV market in the country & coverage in PEOPLE en Español
New York City is the biggest TV market DMA in the United States. The city’s NBC station, WNBC-TV, kicked off coverage of the New York City Dominican Parade with an entire segment on Angela’s Bakery. “Today in New York” anchor called Rose Rosario “The Cake Boss” in an interview that lasted almost 2-minutes in a stand-alone segment!
Angela’s Bakery has been an integral part of the Brooklyn, NY, Dominican community for nearly two decades. Its no surprise that it also received a stand-alone article in People en Espanol Magazine online. The online magazine receives nearly 678,000 unique views monthly. It is, according to media service MuckRack, one of the top 20 Spanish language magazines in the United States.

It showcases the Brooklyn bakery, a few tips, and a link to Rose’s delicious products. “With NYC having the largest Dominican population in the United States, I thought that there was no better time than the NYC Dominican Parade to pitch Rose’s family bakery, online cake mix business, and her family’s contribution to the Dominican community as a thriving business,” Koke says. “Also, a female business owner and daughter of immigrants, Rose is part of the rich tapestry of the Dominican culture here in the U.S. Having her family’s story told is a wonderful facet of the American dream. I was happy to be a small part of that!”
Herb & Lou’s in Buzzfeed
With an online reach of 41-million, Buzzfeed is considered a holy grail of consumer press. The website pumps out product roundups and listicles full of must-have products. The Orca Communications team was excited to secure a placement for Herb & Lou’s infused cocktail cubes in a roundup of unique and splurge-worthy products.
The Table Tyke & Celsius54 on CNN Underscored
Speaking of top-tiered shopping press, CNN Underscored is huge in this category. The online offshoot from the people behind CNN News is packed full of product reviews, deals, and shopping guides. Orca clients, The Table Tyke and Celsius54 both received placements in product roundups. In Celsius54’s case, the article linked directly to the brand’s website. CNN.com has a domain ranking of 95. That makes this placement a testament to the power PR can have on a brand’s SEO.
Tiny Treehouses on The Spruce
The Spruce is a website all about helping people make the best design choices in their homes. That’s why we love that editors chose to include Tiny Treehouses in a standalone article calling them, “the plant accessory you need.” The writer does a thorough job of walking the reader through several Tiny Treehouse designs so they can pick the best version of the product for their home garden. Orca publicist, Aaron Sanders says, “I’m not an inventor or entrepreneur like our amazing clients at Orca, but I try to imagine the excitement and validation that comes from seeing your start-up’s name appear on a top-tier media outlet. Celsius54 on Tastemade’s IG Reels
We’ve talked a lot about magazines and trendy websites, but PR includes social media standouts, too. Here is an example. It showcases the fun squiggly candles from Celsius54. Tastemadehome has 562k followers on Instagram. With the social media platform favoring Reels over other posts, this is a great earned-media opportunity for our fun candle client. This is one of several big placements they secured in the month of August. The client also saw coverage in House Beautiful, YourTango, and Brit + Co.
Whoa Dough! soars with targeted press coverage
We had the pleasure of sharing the high-flying news of Whoa Dough and its in-air collaboration with American Airlines! This is huge news for vegans who can now enjoy delicious plant-based cookie dough bars while they fly. The news received plenty of pickups, including from outlets like Bake Mag, Simple Flying, Travel Trade Today, and VegNews. This shows the power of strategic and targeted press outreach.
